We have been married for almost 23 years and MarriageTalk has truly helped to empower our marriage by teaching us to be able to communicate with each other and to understand that even though we are one, yet we are two different individuals with two different personalities. Also, as a result of MarriageTalk, my husband tells me that he appreciates me or that he loves me practically everyday! Talk about deposits into the marriage bank! WOW!! Every opportunity that we get we are telling people about MarriageTalk so that they can also empower their marriages and most definitely cut down on the divorce rate. Praise God!

MarriageTalk has empowered our marriage because Danny and Amelia have a God given heart for marriages. Real issues about family life are talked about in an open and relaxed atmosphere. They never make you feel like they are above you no matter how long you have been married or what your concerns are in your marriage, (they are never to large or small) they take the time to address them. That makes us feel important. We laugh and enjoy the diversity with the other couples. We are learning how to communicate with each other more effectively, learning how to let things go that really are not that important and there is no room for competition in our marriage.

I wanted to send you a quick e-mail to say hello and let you all know that we were thinking about you. Lisa and I hope to be able to attend one of your meetings soon! We must give this testimony!! When we met last fall in Memphis, I would be remised if I did not admit that Lisa and I were struggling with our marriage (severly). The Lord saw fit that we were able to meet you out of all of the people at the conference! We were so pleased and impressed by your spirit and that you went out of your way to reschedule your plans to take us to lunch, befriend us and ironically share with us what was on your heart and your ministry!

To show you how the Lord works and uses people...How powerful and inspirational your ministry is...Lisa and I took a lot back from our meeting with you! We loved your discussion regarding having lunch together and family nights every week! After meeting you we immediately incorporated that into our schedules. Lisa and I work just a few blocks from each other and we could count the number of times within 4 years (since we have moved back to St. Louis), that we have had lunch together. Now we have lunch every week! Even if we are mad at each other about something, we still meet. Surprisingly, I have found that it generally eases tension. Our son loves the family nights! We may go to the movies, bowling, or just stay home and have a Blockbuster night and pizza. It allows very good quality time together. Another thing that I fondly remember you stating is that when you and your wife have lunch together each week, "you get a real kiss!!!" We are still working on that one, but the thought is there and we see great progress in the Gardner family!!
